We offer a wide variety of events including fishing events, shooting events, and hunter safety courses. We Will continuously update our event list as it becomes available. Maryland Hunter Safety Course
Successful completion of a hunter safety class is a requirement of all those who wish to obtain a Maryland hunting license. Cold Deer Hunting and Fishing Club can only accommodate 12 students per class due to social distancing guidelines. All Maryland traditional hunter education classes are offered free of charge. Financial support is provided by donations from local gun clubs and civic organizations where the classes are held.
The internet course is operated by a private vendor that charges a fee of $19.95 to take the final exam. Students may work through the internet course and take a pre-test at no cost. After successfully passing the online test and obtaining a voucher, the student must attend a mandatory hunter education field day workshop.
Due to Covid 19, all persons must wear a mask at all times inside of our facility without exception. Course requirements also require all persons must wear a mask outdoors when within 6 foot of another person. There is also a required questionnaire that each person must take prior to entry each date of class. Entry to class will depend upon answers given on said questionnaire.
Only one person not taking the course is allowed to accompany a student who is taking the course. This person must also abide by the Covid 19 guidelines set forth above.

Still Target Shoot (A.K.A Turkey Shoot)
Still Target Shoots, formally know as Turkey Shoots, Will Be Held at The Cold Deer Hunting and Fishing Club Inc Which is located at 6130 Mountaindale Road, Thurmont, Md 21788. Each still target shoot will have prizes that varies for each event. This event is open to the public.

12 GAUGE GUNS ONLY for 12 GAUGE Shoots. Open site only, no scopes, laser sites etc. .680 Shot only. NO ALTERED GUNS. 32″ MAX LENGTH
22 Cal Pistol or Rifle. Shoots are open site only, no scopes, laser sites etc.
